The best moveset for Falinks in Pokémon Go

When adding Falinks to your team in Pokémon Go, you want to consider the best attacks to teach it before using it against an opponent. Falinks can be a tricky Pokémon to master, and it won’t be good in every situation.

You’ll have to pick through several moves to find the best moveset for Falinks. These are important choices as they determine this Pokémon’s strength in combat against other players, and it can be difficult to figure out which are the best options. Here’s what you need to know about the best moveset for Falinks in Pokémon Go.

Falinks is a Fighting-type Pokémon, which is typically on the offensive during many encounters. It has a higher defense than you’d expect from a Fighting type, but not enough to make it a challenge. When you catch a Falinks, the best moveset to teach it in Pokémon Go is the fast move Counter, and the charged moves Superpower and Megahorn.

You won’t have too many options for picking out Falinks’ fast move. The only choices you have are Counter and Rock Smash. Unfortunately, Counter was given some hefty nerfs during the Max Out move change update, but Counter is still a superior choice to Rock Smash. If Falinks ever receives a moveset update and unlocks a new Fighting-type move, it could become a much stronger Pokémon. But for now, Counter is the best option.

Next, we have Falinks’ charged moves. There are multiple options, each with unique pros and cons. These are all the charged moves Falinks can learn in Pokémon Go.

  • Brick Break (Fighting-type)
  • Megahorn (Bug-type)
  • Superpower (Fighting-type)

Megahorn and Superpower sit at the top of the three options as the best charged moves Falinks can use in Pokémon Go. Brick Break falls short of Superpower as they cost the same amount of energy, but Brick Break does half the damage. The downside to using Superpower is it has a debuff attached to it, lowering the user’s attack and defense each time you use it. Despite the debuff, Superpower remains a far superior option given the damage differences between these two moves.

You’ll always want to go with Megahorn for Falinks, as it’s a Bug-type move that offers you wider attack choices that are not simply Fighting-type attacks. It always helps to have a unique attack up your sleeve in Pokémon Go.

Because of the nerfs to Counter, Falinks falls short of being a solid Pokémon. It’s purely a Fighting-type choice, and superior options are available to you that can dish out the same damage and attack power such as Pangoro, Machamp, or Primeape.

You want to stick to using Falinks in PvE encounters, primarily fighting against Team Rocket. If you do want to use Falinks on your team against other players, keep it in the Great League, as it has the best chance of making an impact there. You won’t find it too much use in Pokémon Go‘s other more advanced leagues.
