First-person shooter players can be very picky and finicky when it comes to their craft on PC, and Overwatch’s community is no different.
When one of the game’s players posted to the forums asking for more crosshair customization, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan answered.
“This seems pretty straightforward,” said Kaplan. “We’ll see if we can get this done.”

Certain heroes in the game have their own exclusive crosshairs, like Zarya and Hanzo, but the other crosshair customization options are limited. Right now, the game currently only offers variations of a circle, crosshairs, short crosshairs, and dot, with the ability to change the color and turn bloom off and on. The game also allows you to change each hero’s specific crosshair.
Games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, another hugely popular PC FPS, gives players the ability to fully customize their crosshairs in numerous ways through third-party elements. Overwatch has yet to develop or allow something similar.
There’s nothing wrong with having more options, and Kaplan and the development team are open to the idea of adding more. So stay tuned.
