Over the past few days, Jason “WildTurtle” Tran has caused quite the stir amongst the community. The possibility that he may temporarily return to Team SoloMid to replace Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng carries some weight. With Intel Extreme Masters just around the corner, it’s fair to assume all teams involved would be grouping together for some practice. While TSM has not openly announced who would be filling the roll of ADC, a quick look at the match history of TSM support Vincent “Biofrost” Wang says a lot.
As a former player of TSM who last played for Immortals, WildTurtle was seen playing online with TSM’s current support, Biofrost, which could mean many things.
Now it may be jumping to conclusions, but could this mean WildTurtle is returning to TSM during Doublelift’s break? There has been no confirmation as of yet to who will be taking over as ADC, so all of this is just speculated. However, according to ESPN reporter Jacob Wolf, WildTurtle plans to “compete with Team SoloMid at the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Oakland tournament on Nov. 19-20.” Wolf continued to say, “he will then travel to South Korea to bootcamp and try out for other teams, including Team Dignitas, according to sources close to the player and both organizations.”
Over the next week, we are sure to get an official statement from TSM as to who the replacement ADC will be. It is possible that WildTurtle offered to step in to help Biofrost while they are finding a new ADC. It’s important to keep an open mind at this point in time, as an official statement has not yet been released. Seeing as it is so close to IEM Oakland, it’s definitely possible that WildTurtle could make his return to TSM in 2017.
