One of the biggest names is investing in the new title.

TSM is joining the scene of an esport that doesn’t exist just yet, but could very soon. Fortnite: Battle Royale is next up for the esports juggernaut, and one player has been signed.

Ali “Myth” Kabbani is the sole member picked up by TSM thus far, as he has been signed as the team’s captain. The rest of the roster is in the process of being filled out.

“This is like a little boy’s dream come true,” Myth said. “It may sound odd but its insanely nostalgic for me. I remember not so long ago watching and falling in love with TSM as they competed in League tournaments and thinking to myself how amazing it must feel to accomplish your wildest dreams. Being able to represent them in Fortnite is less than just me being a part of TSM and more about me kicking ass with my favorite childhood superhero. I’m honored and ready to show people what TSM will do in Fortnite.”

TSM says that Myth has been a part of the Fortnite community since it started, reaching the highest rank possible on the leaderboards as “one of the game’s premiere builders.”

It’s quite in character for TSM to join a game’s esports scene so early on, as it did with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds last year. TSM’s PUBG team features many popular streamers and they’ve competed at both of the game’s first two LAN events.

Meanwhile, Fortnite is on the rise. Its Twitch viewership has been surging, and Epic Games has been supporting it consistently with update patches and content drops.

While PUBG’s esports scene will continue at some point in 2018, it looks like Fortnite might have something in the works as well for competitors.
