Rifler James “hazed” Cobb will be joining Liquid for the event, which kicks off on April 1. The invitational will see eight of North America’s top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams fight for a prize pool of $16,000.

The former CLG rifler will be filling in for Jacob “Pimp” Winneche, who is currently in the process of transferring from Team Liquid, citing a personal wish to do so. Pimp, who played with Liquid just yesterday in the team’s ESL Pro League match against Renegades, was announced to be departing from the squad on March 23—roughly one week after Liquid, reportedly, had been looking to replace him.

For hazed, who previously played with CLG, this will be the first time in two years that the 27-year-old has competed with a different roster. The rifler departed from CLG on Dec. 31, following a series of disastrous performances from the team, which included a bottom-place finish at the ELEAGUE Major’s North American offline qualifiers.

Once considered to be the strongest CS:GO roster in North America, Liquid’s results have taken a considerable turn for the worse since the departure of Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev on Aug. 3 last year. The team has since changed their roster by removing long-time lurker Spencer “Hiko” Martin in favor of former OpTic Gaming in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz on Feb. 3.

The iBUYPOWER Masters Invitational takes place between April 1 and 2, and will be streamed via Twitch.
