The trial offer is limited to Steam and will feature all online and offline modes—the full experience—with nothing locked behind a paywall.

Capcom is offering the free week to test its changes to the Capcom Fighters Network, including matchmaking improvements, faster load times, and new stats players can view to improve their play style.

After the trial period ends, Capcom plans to use the data provided by the influx of new players to improve the overall game experience.

Capcom hopes by making the game free to play, it can entice players to buy the game outright on Steam or PlayStation 4 and usher in a new era of world warriors to take part in future Capcom Cups, the premier fighting game tournament for Street Fighter V.
