Samsung come into this tournament with the same roster they fielded during the World Championship that occurred a few months ago. The ROX Tigers were orginally supposed to attend this tournament as the LCK’s other representative alongside Kongdoo Monster, but the organization failed to submit a roster on time. To make everything clear, Samsung is replacing ROX for this event.
J Team, formerly know as the Taipei Assassins had an amazing regular season, but had an Immortals-esque playoff/regional gauntlet run keeping them from attending the 2016 World Championship.
With this announcement, seven teams have been officially confirmed for the event. China’s Royal Never Give Up is slated to be the final team, but it is currently not confirmed.
IEM Gyeonggi is slated to start on Dec. 16, and will run for three days.
