Replays Possibly Coming to Overwatch Soon

The people have been asking for a better replay or VOD feature in Overwatch and Jeff Kaplan has responded with minor details.

Replays and VODs are features that really help gamers out, especially in the competitive aspect of games. It really helps to be able to go back and watch yourself play to see how you react in certain situations. Did you make the right play? Did you have proper map control? Where did that guy come from? All of these questions can be answered with proper replay and VOD features. A lot of games already have the feature, but Overwatch is still lacking it, which has caused many people to request it on the Blizzard forums.

Well, their voices have been heard. Jeff Kaplan, the game director for Overwatch, responded to a post where it was brought up. He was quoted as saying,

Saving and/or exporting highlights is also on our list. We consider this a completely different feature from the replay request above. This one is also actively being worked on. Highlight sharing/saving/exporting will come before replays.

It’s good to see that the developers are listening to what the community has to say about the game and making the changes that the players want. We still do not have too much detail on when things will change and what these changes will be, but make sure to keep your eyes out for more information. You can also follow the post right here if you want to see for yourself.

Are the replay and VOD features something you will be using in Overwatch? Do you think its important to add for competitive players? Comment below or tweet your answer to us @GAMURScom.
