A new international Gears of War 4 league with a $25,000 prize pool is coming in May, International Gaming League announced earlier this week in a press release.
Running from May 9 to June 9, twelve teams will compete for pro points to earn a spot in the LAN event finals held in Huntington Beach, California from June 30 to July 2. Separate from the developer-backed Gears Pro Circuit, the IGL Gears of War 4 Legends League will be open to both pro and amateur teams.
The league will feature familiar talent to Gears of War esports fans, with the likes of Chris “Deluxe” Haas, Toby Campbell, and Jon “Falloutt” Kefaloukos.
The first set of four open qualifiers will take place on March 18, with three more open qualifiers scheduled for March 25, April 8, and April 15. The top four teams from each open qualifier will then move to ladder play where, after a month, the top twelve teams will be moved into league play.
