The best drop locations in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2

Landing is the first step toward a Victory Royale.

Though many aspects can make or break a top Fortnite player, like aiming and building, luck also plays a massive factor in the popular battle royale. The chances of you taking down a player with a golden tactical shotgun using a gray submachine gun will nearly always be lower than they would be the other way around.

Playing safe is one of the best pieces of advice that new Fortnite players receive. But this also requires safe landing spots, and loot options are limited at best when you land at less popular points of interest (POI).

Like every other season, the fourth leg of Fortnite’s second chapter introduced new changes to the map, which spiced up the game in terms of landing spots. The best landing spots in Fortnite are usually high-risk, high-reward options. There will be many other players landing with you, meaning you may need to do some killing before you concentrate on looting.

If you believe you have what it takes to clear a whole POI, then here are the best landing spots you can try out for the ultimate loot in Fortnite Chapter three, season two.

Greasy Grove

The key to finding the best loot at the start of a match is increasing the number of chests you open. Considering how fast-paced Fortnite can be, players won’t have much time to roam around, which is why Greasy Grove is one of this season’s more popular landing spots.

The city planning in the landmark is perfect for early looting as all the houses are relatively close. Players can loot through multiple houses in a short time and there will always be enough cover if someone shoots at you. Even if you have enough loot, make sure to listen for noises as you’re switching houses; there can always be other looters in the area.

Shifty Shafts

Shifty Shafts is back in Fortnite after a long break and it’s one of the best spots for players who like taking it slow in the early game. Shift Shaft’s isolated location allows players to avoid early game skirmishes, but it comes at a cost.

Shifty Shafts features less loot than the other landmarks on our lists, but still has enough to gear up a player or two. This also increases the level of competition in the landmark since you won’t want any other players around to share loot.

Shift Shafts features enough materials that should have you set until the late game despite its limited loot sources. From wood to metal, you’ll be able to deck out your building materials, which will help you drastically in building fights.

The Daily Bugle

The Daily Bugle is one of the most iconic landmarks ever added to Fortnite. Not only does it introduce Spider-Man’s hometown to the Fortnite world but it also features a total of 45 chests, more than any other large landmark in the game.

Though the Daily Bugle has enough chests to deck out multiple squads, getting to the chests is not easy. The landmark is one of the most popular hot spots in the game and its terrain–filled with bouncy webs and zip lines–makes sure there’s never a boring fight in the Bugle.

Chonker’s Speedway

If you’d like to spend less time looting and start hunting, Chonker’s Speedway may be the place to land for you.

Chonker’s Speedway comes packed with a handful of vehicles, giving players the option to leave the perimeters whenever they like. You can quickly loot up in Chonker’s Speedway and get yourself a vehicle to hunt down other players who may be just starting their looting routine in other landmarks.

The landmark’s architecture also makes it easier to spot enemies from a distance while making it challenging to wrap around other players.

Sleepy Sound

Sleepy Sounds resembles Greasy Grove with its stacked-up buildings. All the houses in the landmark are located close to each other, allowing players to open quite a few chests in a short time.

In addition to all the accessible loot, Sleepy Sound also features boots players can use to catch up to the safe zone. If you’re looking to loot Sleepy Sound by yourself, you’ll need to be prepared to fight other players. Accumulating building materials while decking out your loadout will be the key to surviving in Sleepy Sound. Most players tend to focus on working on their building materials once they collect all the weapons and resources they need.

Tilted Towers

Tilted Towers has been missing from the map until Chapter Three rolled around. The return of the landmark was a nice surprise for the fans, but it’s not the only reason why it’s one of the more popular landing spots on the Fortnite map.

In addition to featuring close buildings that are filled with chests, Tilted Towers is also an Order territory in Fortnite Chapter three, season three, meaning there’s an IO Airship patrolling its parameters.

While IO Airships will be hard to take down, they’ll reward players with decent loot that will make it worth their time.

Though these are some of the best spots to land this season, developing a looting pattern will always be more potent than landing at the best places. Choose a point of interest and practice looting around the area to increase your odds of surviving in competitive matches.

Most professional players have their own fixed landing spots where they know the ins and outs of a place, making it extremely hard for opponents to fight them. Since you’ll know what you’re doing and where you should go, this can help you be one step ahead of your landing competition to secure some early kills.

It’s possible to develop your own looting patterns by exploring your favorite spots to land and you can also take advantage of veteran players’ guides that showcase some of the most optimized routes in Fortnite. Another great way to discover looting paths is to watch professional matches and focus on only a single player’s perspective. Pay attention to their early game movement and try to mimic what they do in a game of Fortnite to start becoming a deadly threat in the weekly Cash Cups.
