Fnatic and Roccat locked in battle for final EU LCS playoff spot

With five of the EU LCS Spring Playoff participants decided, Roccat and Fnatic are locked in a battle for the final spot.

With undefeated G2 Esports and high-flying Misfits already through, Roccat and Fnatic each have five wins on the season—but Fnatic have one game in hand.

Fnatic went up against bottom side Giants Gaming this week, an expected easy win—but Giants did manage to take a game from them.

Fnatic took games one and three in comfortable fashion inside 25 minutes, but Giants showed some signs of life in a longer game two. Though Fnatic led in kills and gold, and the two teams exchanged objectives, Giants were able to pull out a consolation map.

Roccat had what looked like a tougher matchup on paper against Misfits, but perhaps with their seasonal position already confirmed Misfits took their foot off the gas somewhat. That left Roccat to extend their winning streak to five matches and continue their late run at the playoffs.

Origen’s troubles continued in another 0-2 loss to Unicorns of Love, extending their losing record to 0-12. Unicorns of Love are just one win ahead of H2k-Gaming at the top of Group B—both teams play two matches next week, with a first place playoff bye in the finals at stake.
