Nico Minoru is one of the Runaways, a group of young heroes who are all children of super-villains that ran away from home. She’s an extremely powerful character in Marvel lore, even as just a teenager, using her trademark Staff of One weapon to cast magical spells.

Here’s everything you need to know about Nico Minoru in Marvel Snap.

  • Card stats: One Cost, two Power
  • Card text: On Reveal: After you play your next card, cast a spell. (The spell changes each turn.)

As you can see, Nico’s utility makes her quite random. The next card played after her will cast a spell, and the spell will change each turn while it’s in play, meaning it could really shake things up depending on what you get.

Here are all of the possible spells she can cast.

  • Card stats: One Cost, two Power
  • Possible spells:
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, it becomes a Demon.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, destroy it and draw two cards.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, move it one location to the right.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, give it +2 Power.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, replace that card’s location.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, add a copy of it to your hand.
    • On Reveal: After you play your next card, double this card’s Power.

Nico may just end up fitting into the game as a one-drop card, but her randomness makes her sound like a lot of fun, if not inconsistent. It’ll likely take some time for Nico to find her role in the meta, if there is one to be found at all.

Since she plays a second card, she’ll combo nicely with Elsa Bloodstone, and she’ll immediately fit into Bounce decks thanks to her cheap cost. But at a price of 6,000 Collector’s Tokens as a Series Five card, it may be best to try your hand at Spotlight Caches or hold off on her until her role is more defined.
