You should be most cautious about On Reveal abilities in terms of the timing of activation since they activate during the time you played the card with that effect. These are one-time effects that trigger once unless there are effects from cards or locations that can re-activate them again. Decks that center around On Reveal could be something you might consider building thanks to the impact their effects can bring.

Here are the best On Reveal decks in Marvel Snap.

All-Out On Reveal

The best deck to grasp the On Reveal strategy is this deck that focuses on just activating On Reveal abilities to gain a toolbox of advantages. While this centers on gaining more Power for your side, this On Reveal deck also offers a handful of other effects that can gradually disrupt your opponent’s strategy.

The classic On Reveal combo of Black Panther and Arnim Zola is in this deck. The former is a five-cost, eight-Power card that doubles its current Power when played, while the latter destroys a random card from your side in the location where you play it but creates copies of it in the other two locations.

Doctor Doom and White Tiger are also in this deck to create a formidable swarming strategy with Wong, which doubles all On Reveal effects of cards placed in the same location. Wolfsbane and Iron Heart are there for gaining additional Power, while Storm floods a location and makes the next turn the last turn players can play there.

Nebula is there to build up your early game. As Scorpion, it can inflict a negative one Power on all of your opponent’s cards in their hand. Cap off the deck with Magik, to turn a location to Limbo and extend the game to a turn seven, and Odin, which re-activates all On Reveal effects of cards that are already placed on the location where you will play it.

Win condition cards for this deck

The win condition cards for this deck are:

  • Black Panther
  • Arnim Zola
  • Wong
  • White Tiger
  • Doctor Doom
  • Odin

The Black Panther and Arnim Zola combo is the main offensive option for this deck. This play can give you at least two 16-Power Black Panther copies in the other two locations. Combining it with Wong can provide two 32-Power Black Panther clones which can be massive for your side.

The White Tiger and Doctor Doom play can be used if you still need to swarm your locations with more units to outpower your opponent.

As for Odin, its ability to re-activate your On Reveal abilities can be massive. Playing it in an Arnim Zola location (assuming that you already destroyed and summoned copies of Black Panther and Wong on the other two locations) can even make Black Panther a lot more powerful.

Evolved On Reveal

Another deck where On Reveal abilities are the primary source of both offense and defense is in a High Evolutionary deck. Here, the evolved creatures made by High Evolutionary are being used, mainly to inflict negative Power to your opponent’s cards which can be converted as offense for your side.

Cyclops and The Thing are the High Evolutionary creations that can inflict negative Power to your opponent’s units. As for Abomination, it can cost one less for each of your opponent’s cards in locations that were inflicted with negative Power. As for Misty Knight, Shocker, and Hulk, all of these High Evolutionary creations are inclined with the energy conservation mechanic which can give you a handful of advantages.

Scorpion and Spider-Woman are there as additional cards that can inflict negative Power. Finish the deck with the disruption duo of Shang-Chi, which can destroy your opponent’s cards with ten or more Power on the location where you play it, and Enchantress, which can remove all Ongoing abilities of cards that are already placed on the same location as it.

Win condition cards for this deck

  • Spider-Woman
  • Cyclops
  • The Thing
  • Shang-Chi
  • Enchantress
  • Hulk

Spider-Woman, Cyclops, and The Thing are your main offensive weapons to inflict negative Power on your opponent’s cards while also having decent Power that can build up your locations. As for Shang-Chi and Enchantress, their disruption prowess can be converted as an offense for your side.

Hulk is a given massive Power source which can be dangerous in the late game, especially if you manage to conserve energy in the early to mid-game.

How to counter On Reveal decks in Marvel Snap

Since On Reveal decks heavily rely on the activation and benefits of On Reveal effects from its cards, the biggest and most direct counter to this strategy is Cosmo. It completely shuts down all On Reveal effects from happening on the location where it is placed, may it be from its user or from the opponent.

For the Wong/Mystique strategy, Enchantress can counter this strategy. It prevents Ongoing abilities from being activated once you play it. Also, lockdown decks that prevent you from playing cards at a location can disrupt your setup, such as Prof. X and Storm.

These are the best On Reveal decks in Marvel Snap. Try and test out those to eventually make your way to Infinite.
