KT’s strategy for the first game saw them build a strong team fighting composition with Vladimir, Jarvan, and Lissandra picked to chase SKT down. SKT’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok was thrown on extra support duty, however, with his Zilean pick giving his team a key extra lifeline in fights.

Park “Teddy” Jin-seong’s Kalista allowed SKT to secure the final Baron buff needed to take down KT in an incredible back-and-forth 51 minute game. Teddy was brought onto the SKT roster after his stand-out performance on Jin-Air Greenwings. Coupled with the veteran talent of World Champion Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong the bot lane duo have been a stand out.

KT managed to gain some small advantages over SKT, which included Bdd’s pick on Teddy in game one leading to a Baron take. Unfortunately, it was down to multiple members of KT overextending, which gave SKT the advantage.

SKT’s jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min provided key pressure across both games with his play on Lee-Sin. Clid picked up a key first blood and secured three dragons leading to a 20 minute Baron in game two.

With a final Baron-enabled team fight in game two, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok secured a quadra kill to end the telecom war and name SKT the winners.

SKT’s next match will see them face DAMWON Gaming, who managed to force them to a game three the last time they met. KT are set to face the undefeated Griffin, which will be key in securing their position in playoffs.
