This should keep Rakan players happy for now.

After revealing some of its changes to the public, it looks like Riot Games is listening to its player base. The company is reverting a majority of the major adjustments it was making to Rakan and his mobile ability set and has instead made some healthier changes to the kit.

Blake “Squad5” Smith, a Riot game designer, revealed the improved adjustments to the champion, saying that the team wanted to give Rakan more durability and a W speed buff—things that the League of Legends community has been asking for.

The day before, Squad5 announced that there were going to be some significant adjustments to Rakan’s kit headed to the Public Beta Environment. From what he outlined, Rakan would no longer be able to use his W and E abilities during his ultimate, the Quickness. In exchange, he was going to get a big increase in his movement speed during his ultimate.

The community, however, was not happy at all about the changes. Whether on Reddit or on Twitter, people echoed the same sentiment: should these changes go through, Rakan was a “dead” champion. Luckily, the new changes are keeping his ability to W and E during his ultimate, but he will now have a 0.5 second cast time where cannot use Flash or W.

By giving Rakan a bit more innate tankiness and health, he can now engage more reliably without getting instantly popped once he jumps into the enemy team. As seen in the replies to Smith’s tweet, many agree that this is a much better change for Rakan, as it is a pretty balanced and necessary for his kit.

It’s good to see Riot listening to its fanbase when it comes to making changes to some of its champions.
