It was a busy April Fools Day for Riot Games—not because it released a whole slew of new skins or released a new game mode, but because it was busy pranking some of the most popular League of Legends streamers through the game’s client.

Many broadcasters usually have their guard up on April Fools Day, but it was clear that this prank caught them all by surprise. Take Michael “imaqtpie” Santana’s reaction to the in-client survey he got after losing a game where he got autofilled to the support position.

From time to time, the client will have a window pop-up after a game where it asks you about your satisfaction with the game and other questions about your experience with League. It looks like Riot has changed a bit of the code for a little bit of fun.

Riot gave Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp the same treatment, as he got a survey after he won one of his solo queue games. The client asked him, “Which one of your cats do you prefer and why?” It was a funny moment where his response was heartwarming at first but then ended with a classic Tyler1 answer.

Riot also pranked popular streamers Albert “Boxbox” Zheng and Ashkan “TF Blade” Homayouni via the client. Boxbox was stunned when Riot asked about his opinions on a possible upcoming Riven rework, while TF Blade’s simply said, “Listen buddy…” It was a harmless joke that got many of the recipients laughing along with their Twitch chat.
