Perkz’s Zoe finishes off 100 Thieves

G2 stomped 100 Thieves' funnel comp into the ground to give Europe at 2:1 lead at Rift Rivals.

G2 Esports are the funnel masters of Europe. Over three weeks, they’ve demonstrated total mastery over team compositions designed to funnel gold and experience into mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perkovic.

So when they came to America for Rift Rivals, we were hoping to see that funnel up close and personal. Instead, we got Perkz’s Zoe. And his Zoe was so good, it didn’t even need a funnel to succeed against 100 Thieves.

When Zoe was released, players all over the world complained about how stupidly OP she was. She combined low-CD, long-ranged crowd control with one-shot burst. Eventually, she was nerfed a bit, but don’t worry, she’s back. Need proof? Check out what Perkz does to 100 Thieves support Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black.

But wait, there’s more! The next one went right through the Braum shield.

That is plain dirty. Pretty soon, there wasn’t anything 100 Thieves could do besides pray that G2 would mess up. A couple of times they did, allowing 100 Thieves’ own funnel comp—based around jungler Do “Levi” Duy Khánh’s Graves—to take a few Barons and hold at the base.

But eventually, the Zoe became too ridiculous. Heading into a composition that had precious little magic resist, she dominated as G2 closed the game patiently.

It was a pretty comprehensive win for a team playing standard for once. They got strong contributions from all players and Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski proved he can still play the jungle at a high level. Now that G2 have proven they can win in multiple different ways, NA may not have a team that will be able to take them down.
