Welcome to the weekly K.I.S.S report Week 3 of the NA and EU LCS. K.I.S.S stands for Korean Import Statistic Sheet. I will compile the performance of every Korean import currently playing in the North America and European league championship series to provide a compilation of the Korean import’s performance. This week I took the suggestion from Reddit and added new statistics to the fold for your enjoyment. Now every week, I will compare each Korean Import players and their North American or European counterpart average KDA to see how they fared against them. This will help show if their performance in their respective region is indeed worth importing them for.

The KDA system  I am using is lolesports.com’s system where you add the Kills, Deaths, and Assists for the respective week and then calculating them to retrieve the percentage. Since I used my own KDA calculation system for the previous this week, I will re-post the previous KDA for each player in the Riot system and will do in the future to show the player’s performance in its entirety.

Feel free to comment and point out any mistakes made or players I have missed. Enjoy the stats!

NORTH AMERICA/EU VS KOREA CHART (tentative title)

So something new for this week; an excel chart! This chart will compare the Korean Import player’s KDA for each to the remaining NA/EU laners KDA AVG to see how they performed. The thing about KDA is that even if the player has a low KDA or  lower than the average KDA for the lane, they still performed really well and won the game so do take it with a grain of salt and not judge the player based on the average KDA comparison.

top laners

Because we’re only three weeks into the season, it is not easy to see a pattern in the player’s performance. There has been instances where one or two players tip the KDA scale so it  is kind of hard to get an accurate reading (Damn you Bjergsen, you magnificent bastard). That being said, all the top laners in both regions have been tipping back and forth in terms of KDA. Huni however, has been performing well for the first two weeks albeit the low KDA in week 2. NA wise, the top laners are below the average KDA thanks to players like Dyrus and Balls slowly picking up steam and dominating the charts. Also not as much Lissandra ban against Huni. He’s 3 for 3 wins on her  and yet teams still let him have her.

jungle

I think right now the EU jungle is  the toughest and competitive lane in EU because of all the killer players (Svenkeren, Diamond, Jankos, etc) but Reginover for the most part is doing well, not fluctuating as much compared to Horo who has been up and down in KDA. It is a bit worrisome for Horo because of the recent MYM shakeup and how it will affect the team environment. Rush has been performing rather consistent but nothing spectacular in terms of KDA. I am really wondering why other teams not try to test his champion pool to see if he has anything beyond J4 and Lee Sin.

middle

Damn Bjergsen for tipping the KDA ratio. He had 30.0 KDA in Week 3. My God. The two Korean mid-lane imports for NA and EU are struggling a bit. Ryu had a great week 2 but as it is with Horo, he seems to be fluctuating super hard from week to week. A new odd/even week curse for players? maybe. Fenix had a great start in Week 1 but has been declining a bit for the next two. With the recent Ahri patch, I wonder if he’ll pull out other mid-laners to play.

adc

Piglet and CoreJJ are two of the three Korean Solo Q Marksman God back in the day along with Imp. Looking at them now, they have a lot more to prove if they want to prove that they were killers back in the day. Piglet had the weirdest start of this season; missed first week, jet lagged second week with no masteries. He seems to be steadily improving and will have to see how he does in Week 4. Core on the other hand is suffering the same fluctuation as the other Korean players. Will Crumbz leaving leave lasting effect on the team or will it be the starting point for the rise of Team Dignitas? who knows.

Where the hell is this guy?

Closing comments: first and foremost; I did not get to see all the games so I apologize for these half-ass “analysis” comments for each players. I can’t watch these games live and trying to find the time to watch 20 games is very hard, but I will try my best each week to at least watch the games the Korean players are in. As for the overall performance of the Korean players, my eyes are still on Piglet to see how he will perform. Entering week 4, the Korean players are no longer jet-lagged and have been scrimming with the team for a solid week now. Week 4~5 will be the time when we can draw a solid conclusion from the player’s performance/KDA and effectively forecast how they could perform in the spring split tournament. If I have to predict anything for next week, I think Piglet will perform well. He hasn’t really fluctuated like the other Koreans (although he wasn’t present for week 1) and he is steadily finding his form and getting his comfort picks like Vayne. Team Liquid usually doesn’t lose to the bottom half teams, so I am hopeful that they will both their games and reclaim their rightful 4th place in the standings.
