Saturday, January 24. The 2015 League of Legends Japan League(LJL) offline event took place at e-sports SQUARE in Akihabara. LJL is a league with a total prize pool of 2 Million JPY (about $17,000 USD).

This time, a lot of spectators formed a long line 30 minutes before the opening. So, e-sports SQUARE decided to open the door 30 minutes ahead of schedule. After that, e-sports SQUARE put an admission limit. Even after the games had started, spectators were waiting outside to enter. It told us how popular the event was. A writer for Nihon Keizai Shinbun (a Japanese economic newspaper) also came there and took some pictures. In the late of the event, some Rioters wearing Riot logos attended and spent time talking with the fans about LoL.
LJL 2015 round robin tournament with 6 teams will take place during the first 10 weeks. Then, the top 3 teams will advance to the playoffs held in week 11 and 12.
Here are the results of the season-opening games.
The 1st game : “7th heaven(7h)” 0-1 “DetonatioN RabbitFive(RF)”
The 2nd game : “Salvage Javelin(SJ)” 0-1 “Ozone Rampage(RPG)”
The 3rd game : “DetonatioN FocusMe(FM)” 1-0 “Crooz Rascal Jester(RJ)”

Teams were introduced before the games and “7th heaven”, a new team joining LJL 2015, looked like having many fans. All the members of “DetonatioN RabbitFive” also entertained spectators by jumping like rabbits, after their team name “Rabbit”.
The 1st game, 7h vs RF.
The game set the longest game time record of LJL with its 1:04:57. The highlight scene was the one where RF got the 3rd tower by sacrificing Jarvan IV(RF).
The 2nd game, SJ vs RPG.
In the early game, SJ took the lead with 2 kills. However, in the late game, Thresh(RPG) began to land some decisive hooks on SJ members, leading RPG to the victory. There was a scene where Janna(SJ)’s ult stopped Lee Sin(RPG)’s Resonating Strike (a.k.a. « Q’ing in »), which surprised a lot of spectators.
The 3rd game, FM vs RJ.
In the early game, RJ got 2 kills with a Thresh(RJ)’s hook into Jarvan IV(RJ)’s ult. Later on, Lulu(FM) saved Tristana(FM) from dying with her ult, when she had over-chased Thresh(RJ). At the Baron fight, FM began to attack Baron and RJ was watching them. Then, FM quickly dashed to attack RJ, and FM won. Even the camera couldn’t follow the surprise action and spectators took a deep breath of admiration.
After the games, there was a rock-paper-scissors game, with a 7 LoL posters and Thresh figurine giveaway. At the Thresh figurine giveaway, the caster of LJL made a good game, making people lose one by one. Finally, the winner got the Thresh figurine.
Goods celebrating the first anniversary of e-sports SQUARE were gifted to the first 30 persons. Here is one, that a regular customer got.
This is the Ignite Curry recommended by the store manager. There are 3 spicy levels. Co-op < Normal < Rank. This is a co-op level.
A LoL goods collector gave spectators some silicon bands made by herself. She said “Anyone can make it on the cheap.”. Cookies made by a LoL fan. I have heard that we could buy the cookie cutter on a web store.
