Even though League of Legends has seen plenty of new, fancy champions hit the Summoner’s Rift, it doesn’t mean that the older, original champions are being sent to the wayside. In the upcoming Patch 9.9, Riot Games is giving Ashe, Caitlyn, Jax, and Renekton some visual and sound effects updates.

First, Ashe has received some upgrades to both her sound and visuals in order to “clean up unnecessary noise, improve gameplay clarity, and bring Ashe more in line with newer Freljordian champions.” Riot updated her basic attack and Frost Shot passive, and cleaned up her Q, W, and E abilities and gave them new, glowy effects. Ashe’s ultimate will also have a brand-new arrow model with a much clearer hitbox.

Additionally, Caitlyn has gotten some visual and sound effect updates, cleaning up most of her kit of any unnecessary noise. Her passive, Headshot, will have a new missile, while her ultimate features a new cast animation, hit effects, and missile as well. Caitlyn’s Lunar Wraith and Headhunter skins are also being cleaned up.

Jax’s updates are all about visibility and satisfaction when hitting someone with his mighty lamp. Each of his abilities has been cleaned up of noise, and his E now has an indicator for its stun range. His visual effects are meant to provide players with a lot more clarity when playing with or against him. Nemesis Jax has new particle effects across his kit, while God Staff Jax is being given the E indicator as well.

Finally, Renekton will be getting strictly sound effect updates to his kit. This is to make sure that every ability is clearer at first listen to match the earlier visual effect updates he received. From his growl during his passive to the slicing sound of his Q ability, Renekton now has some punchier sound effects to go with his new look.
