Forgotten AD carry saved by LoL Patch 14.19’s other huge champ rework

A much-needed reload for Bandle City's biggest gun lover.

Riot Games is showing Tristana some serious love in the mega-sized League of Legends update coming next week, with League Patch 14.19 now expected to deliver the pint-sized AD carry enough buffs to drag her back up into the metagame.

Tristana’s impending League rework is mainly stat-focused, with her base numbers being changed alongside all four of her abilities including her ultimate. The focus, Dot Esports understands, is to push her into AD carry properly and take power away from her ever-more popular mid lane variant; Tristana has popped up more and more as a priority attack damage pick in the central role in Season 14 and Riot isn’t so happy with her modern usage.

These changes, which come at the same time as K’Sante steals headlines with his sixth League overhaul, mean Tristana gets less powerful while collecting experience but exponentially explodes in power with more gold. This means she can now easily share EXP with a support in the bot lane and suck up all the creeps and kills for faster power spikes.

Ability-wise, the Yordle Gunner should be able to employ her Rocket Jump, Explosive Charge, and Buster Shot to devastating effect once she buys several AD and critical strike items.

This move back into hyper carry territory should go some distance to helping Tristana’s frankly horrendous win rate. She’s slumped to a 45.99 percent win rate in the later months of the season, according to League stat tracker U.GG, and fares even worse mid lane with an expected 42.38 percent victory-rate. Perhaps the most concerning record from her competitive campaign recently, however, is the fact she’s only appeared in a pitiful 15,000 games through the 14.18 cycle—a huge drop from the 100,000 plus in early 2024.

The celebrations among Tristana mains across social media have been fast and boisterous, with nearly every League player who regularly picks the Yordle Gunner anticipating a surge back into the meta for their favorite AD carry. The biggest wins included “no more early duellist and splitpusher builds” as well as a return to an item-focused strategy.

Here’s all the changes being tested for Tristana on the League PBE right now. Until they ship live with Patch 14.19 on Wednesday, Sept. 25, all buffs are still tentative.
