Faker is confident in his ability to play all five roles in League

We can picture him in every lane before the end of the summer season.

League of Legends analysts and professional players have agreed for years that SK Telecom T1’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is the best mid laner in the world. Now, he could be out to prove he is the most flexible League player ever.

Following his team’s first victory of the summer season against Jin Air Green Wings yesterday, Faker expressed belief in his ability to play all five roles in the game during an interview with OGN that was translated by Inven Global.

“When it comes to playing all five roles, I can confidently say that I’m more experienced than any other player,” Faker said. “Therefore, depending on the situation, I can play in every lane.”

During game one of the series against Jin Air, Faker played Taliyah in the bot lane. This is the second time this season he has played outside of his traditional mid lane role. While we had previously known he could dominate from the jungle position in solo queue, this is the first time we have had the pleasure to watch him off-role on the professional stage.

Faker said he can play any role thanks to his time practicing in solo queue. He hit rank one on the Korean server over a week ago, playing a mix of conventional and strange picks.

“When I play solo queue, I practice playing all five roles, so I just played like I normally would when I went botlane,” Faker said. “I have always played both meta and off-meta champions, and I don’t think that has and will change any time soon.”

Here’s hoping we get to see Faker take on the challenge of playing a game in each role before the end of the summer, a feat his former teammate Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon seems intent on doing in the North American LCS. In the first four games of the Summer Split, Huni has played four roles, only once in his traditional top lane. Faker hasn’t gone to such extreme lengths, only leaving the mid lane twice, though that may change in coming weeks.
