Caedrel slams extreme Karmine Corp LoL fans for ‘disgusting and unacceptable’ behavior

When will the line be drawn?

After another controversial event brewing behind the scenes, one of the most popular faces in the competitive League of Legends scene has voiced his criticisms against one of the biggest fanbases in the community.

Former pro player and caster Caedrel blasted the “extreme side” of Karmine Corp’s LoL fanbase after he read a tweet saying that 15 thousand fans would boo Faker at an upcoming Red Bull event that will be held in Paris. The 28-year-old didn’t hold back with his response, saying that the recent upswing of “disgusting and unacceptable” behavior has gotten out of hand.

In his response, Caedrel doubled down on his opinion by explaining how tired he was of Karmine Corp fans sending out horrible messages to players, casters, and streamers if they showed any kind of critical stance against their favorite organization. He even claimed that it has become so bad, that people are afraid to speak about Karmine Corp in an honest manner, in fear of being brigaded by droves of angry supporters.

“I was a huge fan of the [Karmine Corp] community and even supported it where I could for years, especially when they joined the LEC, because of how much I thought they deserved it,” Caedrel said on social media. “It’s just sad that a handful of the extreme side of the fanbase acts like this, and misrepresents the real fans or fan opinions by having disgusting behavior.”

This isn’t even the first time Karmine Corp fans have been placed under the spotlight for their behavior. At the 2023 Red Bull League of their Own event in Berlin, for example, the Blue Wall was criticized for booing Faker when he was introduced to the crowd, causing another divide between Karmine Corp fans and general supporters.

In the LEC, the French organization hasn’t earned itself many flowers, especially after two horrible performances in the last two splits where they finished in last place. Now, the team is struggling to stay alive in the 2024 Summer Playoffs after an 0-2 series loss to G2 Esports to start off their bracket.
