Fnatic have decided to sub out top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, who’s been playing well in the first two games of the group stage, for Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau. The move could potentially be meant to give Bwipo some stage time at Worlds ahead of the knockout stage push over the next few days.

In regards to being benched for tomorrow’s game, sOAZ said that he has full trust in Bwipo to perform on the main stage and that he hopes Fnatic fans support Bwipo as much as they support him. He also asked the fans to stop the sOAZ vs. Bwipo negativity and to just get behind the team.

Fnatic started their run to the Summoner’s Cup by beating NA LCS team 100 Thieves in their opening match before faltering to the LPL’s Invictus Gaming earlier today. Fnatic now sit tied for second place in their group and will need to beat the LMS’s G-Rex tomorrow morning to boost their chances of making it to the knockout stage.

After the G-Rex match, Fnatic will need to wait until Oct. 17 to play their final three games of the group stage. Fnatic will face 100 Thieves, Invictus Gaming, and G-Rex one last time to try to secure one of the top two places in their group so they can advance to the next round.
