Don't be a hoarder.

To drop an item you’re carrying in Sons of the Forest, press G on your keyboard.

Depending on whether you have space in the inventory, you’ll either drop or put away smaller items. If you’re holding something big, like logs, pressing G will also drop it.

You can discard unnecessary items like rotten food directly from the inventory. Open the inventory and right-click on the item to throw it away. This only applies to expired items—everything else will remain in the inventory.

How to give items in Sons of the Forest multiplayer

If you want to pass items to your friends in Sons of the Forest, you don’t need to drop them. Instead, walk up to the friend and hold the Interact button to access their backpack. Here, you can cycle through multiple pages of your items and add them to their inventory.

You can give almost everything, from sticks and stones to ammunition, food, and explosives. Keep in mind that you can’t take items from others’ inventories this way. If you need something from a friend, they need to access your backpack and drop items themselves.
