Introduction
Weekly Hearthstone Roundup is a series summarizing last week in Hearthstone. By making a compilation of the news regarding game, teams, pro players, ladder, community etc. we try to make catching up easier for those of you who don’t follow the HS news every day.
If you feel that we’ve missed something important or that we didn’t properly cite the source, let us know in the comments and we’ll fix it right away.
General/Game News
- HearthPwn: Hearthstone client was updated to 8.0.4 – The update contained… minor text changes. It also fixed the authorization issues on iOS. It’s a bit confusing, because the game seems to redownload itself every time a new patch hits, so every update seems like a big update, even if it’s just couple of lines of text.
- HearthPwn: Want the Heroes of the Storm Card Back? The Requirements Have Changed! – For over a year now, you can get the Heroes of the Storm card back by getting lvl 15 in HotS. It used to be a little bit more difficult, but with the recent changes, getting to level 15 might be a matter of couple of games. If you’re interested in that shiny card back, then wait no longer and jump into the game.
- HearthHead: Mobile Deck Tracker Fix Coming With Next Mandatory Patch – Journey to Un’Goro patch has broken the mobile deck trackers (yes, those exist – for Android), but Blizzard is promising to fix that issue soon.
- Hearthstone Android is nominated for “Best Multiplayer Game” in the yearly Google Play Awards!
- HearthPwn: This week’s Tavern Brawl is: Servant of Yogg-Saron Tryouts – It’s the first time we see this Brawl live. Your deck is filled with random minions – each time you play the minion, it casts a random spell on a random target. It can be anything, raging from 0 cost spells like Circle of Healing to the most powerful stuff like Call of the Wild.
Ladder/Arena/Competitive
- Vicious Syndicate: Data Reaper Report #45 is out! – Second Un’Goro meta report from Vicious Syndicate. It showcases really well that the meta is still far from settled, as there are multiple changes in terms of decks popularity and power level. At the same time, it might be the most diverse meta we’ve ever had, with around 15 decks being competitively viable. This week, top 8 decks on the whole ladder were: Pirate Warrior, Midrange Paladin, Murloc Paladin, Burn Mage, Aggro Shaman, Elemental Shaman Midrange Hunter and Secret Mage. Legend rankings were pretty similar: Pirate Warrior, Murloc Paladin, Midrange Paladin, Secret Mage, Burn Mage, Aggro Shaman, Token Druid, Crystal Rogue and Midrange Hunter.
- TempoStorm: Standard Meta Snapshot #28 is out! – You can watch an overview video here – Tier I and Tier II decks, according to TempoStorm, are. Tier I: Pirate Warrior, Midrange Paladin, Aggro Paladin, Miracle Rogue, Taunt Warrior and Quest Rogue. Tier II: Freeze Mage, Aggro Druid, Midrange Hunter, Jade Druid, Control Mage, N’Zoth Paladin, Token Shaman, Dragon Priest, Control Priest and Aggro Mage.
- HSReplays: Quest Completion Statistics: An Overview
- You can check out a currently trending deck for each class on the HSReplays.net site! – The site offers a selection of decks that have been rising to popularity in the last 48h. Those might not be the best builds, but they’re the ones you should be seeing on the ladder more and more right now. For a compilation of the decks in general, check out the “Decks” section.
eSports/Teams/Tournaments
- HearthPwn: Hearthstone Global Games Week 3 – Team from 48 different countries will face each other in the Best of 5 format. Week 3 of Group Stage has taken place between April 25 and 27, but there is still a lot of action to come – group stage will be played for many more weeks. You can watch new matches live every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the official PlayHearthstone channel. If you’ve missed the action, you can also watch the VoDs from every match!
- HearthPwn: Hearthstone Collegiate National Championship Finals – Results, Decklists – Tespa Collegiate Championship Finals took place over the course of last weekend. 8 teams from different North American brought one deck for each class and clashed with each other. You can watch VoDs on the official PlayHearthstone Twitch channel.
- GosuGamers: China’s premier team league temporary on hold due to “involvement of gambling”
