Why hello, hello one and all. It’s been a while since I emerged from my cold, desolate hole, but here I am un-bathed, unshaven, and as grouchy as ever to share with you my nuggets and tid bits of truth and enlightenment to further you along your Hearthstone path of dreams and desires.

I’ve noticed many of you have asked for more insight and guide related content on the Tavern Brawl aspect of Hearthstone game play. Well fear not dear reader, your cries have not only been heard, but will now be answered. I will take it upon myself to address these concerns within the course of the next several weeks starting today with the basics and thoroughly covering Blizzard’s newest game mode within Hearthstone: Tavern Brawl. From there, within a day or two I’ll release a guide to help you conquer the current Brawl: “Captain Black Beard’s Treasure”.

Within, this particular guide as I mentioned above and because it’s the first in the series we’ll briefly cover what the Tavern brawl is, how it works, what it costs, and its payout. In the coming weeks, we’ll take a look back and I’ll provide you with guides on previous brawls which if history is any indicator, are sure to make a comeback as you progress through the game. Of course, I’ll also cover the most the Tavern’s most current rumble’s, the second I figure them out myself.  Blizzard seems to re-use old content from time to time also, but because I’ll be covering all the Tavern Brawls, you can always click onto the “Contributors” link located at the bottom of the page, find my name and then utilize any guide, with which to further your foot hold on your heart’s little treasures.

What are Tavern Brawls?

Tavern Brawl is a unique game mode within Hearthstone, ushered in by Blizzard just over a year ago. It is a weekly event that is presented to the user with a fresh set of challenging circumstances, which need to be overcome in order to gain victory.

You might for example, have to use a specific deck to beat your foe, or create a brand new deck that address a very specific requirement before you’re able to head into battle. It’s the challenges itself that is the fun and fresh take on the game, and re-sets itself on a weekly basis although they do repeat from time to time.

How much does it cost to enter Tavern Brawls?

Tavern Brawls differ from the game’s other modes such as Arena, in that it doesn’t cost you anything in terms of real world money or in-game currency Gold to participate. However, what it does cost you is experience points, as you will need to have leveled up all your hero characters to level 20 in order to unlock the Tavern Brawl option, in order to get into the action. This isn’t necessarily a huge barrier for most players by any means in terms of raw talent or skill, if anything it’s more of a time consumption obstacle if even that, for even the very newest players.

What are the rewards for winning at the Tavern Brawl?

Victory within the Tavern Brawl will garner the player a free Classic card pack for the first match you win each week. Although, you are limited to receiving one award in any given event if you play every week, the dust gained from card duplicates, golden versions, or even those treasured and rare found legendries you need to round out your collection really start to add up, thus making your hard work pay off.

Additionally, you’ll be pleased to know that if your Gold reserves are running a little dry, any victories you gain from the Tavern can work in conjunction with your Daily Quests, and there is in fact a newer Quest that requires you to win 5 matches within this very mode furthering your in-game wealth!

Furthermore, take note that 3 successful victorious matches in a row within Tavern Brawl, will also contribute toward 100 in-game Gold you would otherwise receive for winning 3 in a row on the ladder as well.

Conclusion

Thank you again for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share a moment or two out of your day with yours truly. I look forward to penning this series and hearing about your own victories, struggles, strategies, deck lists, comments and questions. Feel free to hit me up. Until next time!
