It's expansion hype time again.

The official Hearthstone Twitter account has posted a teaser image that most fans think means we are off to the races with expansion hype.

Despite a false start last week, the two images posted across Blizzard’s Twitter accounts for the game are the clearest sign yet that we are ramping up towards a new set.

The first image was posted on the main, English-language Twitter account, while the second was posted across alternative language accounts—but both came from official sources.

Obviously the text on the first one points to Elementals being a big part of the expansion. That could be scary with decks like Big Spell Mage already popular.

Both the graphics feature an eye which will conjure a sense of déjà vu. It’s very reminiscent of the graphics around Whispers of the Old Gods, the first expansion of 2016. It’s only just rotated out of the Standard format and into Wild, but maybe C’Thun is going to make a comeback of sorts?

The suggestion of an accident or experiments leading to precautions being taken indicate that something will go wrong. That’s not uncommon for Hearthstone—maybe something goes awry with a trip to an existing world from Warcraft and creates a whole new chaotic environment. Turning existing lore on its head is something that Hearthstone sets have been based on before.

Whatever it means, we’re probably not too far away from finding out. The next expansion is expected some time next month.
