Twitch Drops is a player-friendly promotion that aims to generate viewership for a game by awarding players in-game items for watching it. Twitch and Blizzard will be partnering during the week of the HCT World Championship to award players card packs from the Classic and Rise of Shadows sets in exchange for watching HCT World Championship related content.

Since the HCT World Championship is taking place in Taipei, viewing times aren’t ideal for players in America. Viewers who tune in to the PlayHearthstone channel relevant to their region on April 24 to 27 between 9pm and 8am will have the opportunity to earn a number of free card packs. Players who log at least four total hours of viewing time will be awarded one Rise of Shadows card pack. Additionally, 1,500 lucky viewers will be randomly awarded a Classic card pack every hour.

To participate in the Twitch Drops event players will need to have their Battle.net and Twitch accounts linked. Players can do so by navigating to their Twitch account settings, going to connections, then selecting Battle.net.
