Symbiote Gaming, one of North America’s best performing teams in the short time that competitive Heroes of the Storm has blossomed, will now compete under the banner of Tempo Storm. The move marks the first time that the organization, formed by Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk in 2014, has made moves outside of Hearthstone.

The roster of captain Wayde “Dreadnaught” Penfold, Mike “Glaurung” Fisk, Taylor “Arthelon” Eder, Josh “So1dier” Miller, and Kurt “Kaeyoh” Ocher will all be moving over to the new team. The team will be managed by StarCraft caster Jared “Zoia” Eggleston and will be taking up residence in a gaming house later this year.

With 11 weekly cup victories and victory in season 1 of the NA Heroes Premier League, Symbiote Gaming has one of the best records in competitive Heroes to date.

Yanyuk in the past has expressed his frustration that it was difficult for new organizations to expand into established esports scenes, but in Heroes of the Storm, Tempo Storm will be able to get in at a very early stage in the development of pro-level Heroes.

“We’re extremely excited to begin branching outside of the Hearthstone space,” Yanyuk said in a statement on the Tempo Storm website, “and could not have found a better team to do it with. The guys are extremely hard working, dedicated, and one of the most dominant teams I’ve seen across any esport. We look forward to supporting them in any way we can.

Heroes of the Storm has a bright future ahead of it, and Tempo Storm plans to be leading the pack in Heroes for a long time to come.”
