Boasting Jason “Amaz” Chan, Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert and Jeffrey “Sjow” Brusi on its alumni list, ROOT Gaming has been something of a breeding ground for top Hearthstone players. And it’s looking to keep that trend going.
The latest player to sign for the team is Jeffrey “Tarei” Liu, best known for his trip to the quarterfinals of the Hearthstone World Championship in 2014.
Liu has had a limited presence at tournaments since. Aside from a few qualifier tournaments like the WCA 2015 American Pro Qualifiers, Liu has barely appeared at any major events. Signing for a major organization may well mean we see a bit more of the former Team Magicamy player.
With other ROOT players like Sebastian “Ostkaka” Engwall starting to gain recognition in major tournaments, ROOT is making the right moves to bring it back to the top of Hearthstone.
