'Tis the season for new cards.

Looks like Rogue will continue to operate with low cost minions and effective card effects in this new meta.

The Rogue class is perhaps best known for its high-tempo plays at low mana costs. Rogue’s latest Legendary addition plays into this strategy perfectly.

Sonya Shadowdancer creates even more opportunities for the Rogue player to take advantage of effects from the likes of Swashburglar, Edwin Van Cleef, Prince Keleseth, and Vilespine Slayer. These new minions cost only one, providing an even larger tempo turn for Rogue. Additionally, Sonya makes Combo effects easier to activate for less mana—so you can create a large Van Cleef even earlier in the game.

While Sonya doesn’t synergize well with the Rogue secrets revealed earlier in the set, it will be interesting to see what else the Shadowdancer will be able to combo with in this new meta.

Kobolds and Catacombs releases sometime this December.
