Just a week removed from his championship triumph at Dreamhack Summer, Radu “Rdu” Dima has signed on to represent the German team Meet Your Makers.

The tournament was likely the most prestigious yet held for Hearthstone and featured an international field of players that included many of the game’s best. But the perceived success of the event was marred by allegations of cheating pointed towards Dima after victories over Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk and Jason “Amaz” Chan in the semifinals and finals, respectively.

While Chan made a point of taking to social media to defuse the brewing fervor, Yanyuk only stoke the controversy further by publicly challenging Dima and exchanging insults with the 17-year-old Romanian.

Damir Dedic, manager of Meet Your Maker’s Hearthstone team, made it clear in a statement that the organization had full confidence in Radu.

“Dima has proven he’s one of the best players in the world and I’m sure he will have much more success under the Meet Your Makers tag,” Dedic said.

Radu, who joins fellow top eight Dreamhack Summer finisher Thijs “ThijsNL” Molendijk on the Meet Your Makers roster, was understandably upbeat after signing with the team.

“I am very happy to be a part of Meet Your Makers and to play in probably the best Hearthstone team at the moment,” Radu said.

“I think that together, we will win most of the important tournaments in the game.”
