Quoth the raven, new card.

As a two mana 2/2 card that has the potential to draw a high-cost spell, this card may see competitive play in Mage decks that go to the late-game and need those big cost spells like Pyroblast, Firelands Portal, and Meteor.

Raven Familiar is the newest card revealed on stream this week for Kobolds and Catacombs. It is a Mage class card that features a Battlecry, which can draw you a card.

The Battlecry is similar to the Joust mechanic, which pitted two cards against each other with the higher mana cost winning and the card effect being triggered. This card does the same but only with spells, whereas Joust was for minions.

This is the first Mage-class card that is a beast. Is this a signal for more Mage beast cards and synergy that may bring about a Mage beast deck? Only time will tell as more cards are still being revealed from the newest expansion.

Kobolds and Catacombs arrives in-game next month.
