New Paladin card brings some elemental healing to the class

Could this give Paladin control more options?

So far in Kobolds and Catacombs, Paladin’s cards have been about board presence.

The cards the class has been given lend themselves to pushing Dudeadin, the token-based deck that dominates the Wild meta such as it exists.

This new Paladin card however is a little different. The name is unconfirmed (this amusing placeholder chosen by HearthPwn), but it’s a three mana 2/4 that restores three health to your hero at the end of your turn.

This will draw immediate comparisons to Hot Spring Guardian, which is played in most variants of a Control Shaman. However because the healing is not targetable, it’s a little weaker than that.

It does however trigger every turn, so if your opponent doesn’t deal with this it could be a real thorn in their side. If an aggro deck has its damage potential cut by three every turn, that’s a serious handicap.

The expansion will release sometime next month, with an exact date yet to be confirmed.
