New Shaman Murloc card Sludge Slurper is revealed for Hearthstone’s Rise of Shadows expansion

More Lackeys for your Shaman.

Another card has been revealed for Hearthstone’s upcoming expansion, Rise of Shadows. The card debuted in a YouTube livestream of the Brazilian channel Hearthstoria today. It’s a new powerful tool for Murloc Shamans.

Sludge Slurper is a one-mana 2/1 Rare Shaman Murloc. Its Battlecry adds a Lackey to its owner’s hand and overloads their mana pool by one. Despite looking weak by itself, the Lackey it adds to the Shaman’s hand might help with a few combos depending on the archetype they’re running. If not, at least it’s an early-game Murloc that Shamans can play to get some early pressure in the match.

Despite being a Murloc, Sludge Slurper seems to be too weak to make Murloc Shaman a big deck archetype for Rise of Shadows by itself. Fans of the deck will have to wait for upcoming cards and more Lackey interactions to see how well it fits the upcoming metagame.

Players will be able to open or craft the Sludge Slurper card once Rise of Shadows is released on April 9. Until then, players can get ready to fill up their collections with new cards by purchasing pre-sale pack bundles, one that comes with 50 card packs for $49.99 and another that comes with 80 packs for $79.99. These bundles allow players to pay $1 per pack, which is the lowest price players can get even after Rise of Shadows is out.
