Lone Champion is the latest Kobolds and Catacombs card revealed

Is he still Lone if you play two copies?

Not all new Hearthstone cards can be big and flashy. Every set needs its plain old minions to try and get the job done.

The latest card announced for Kobolds and Catacombs is definitely one which fits that description.

Lone Champion is a neutral three mana 2/4, which has Taunt and Divine Shield if you have no minions on the battlefield when you play it.

There’s not a lot to say here. This card isn’t particularly exciting. The effect is cute, and does provide some level of board defense if you’re that far behind that you don’t have any minions on turn three. But it’s likely too inconsistent to see any kind of strong meta play.

It’s unlikely to take the place of Stonehill Defender as a three mana taunt, and the three mana 2/4 Squirming Tentacle already doesn’t see any play.

Kobolds and Catacombs arrives in game next month.
