Obsidian Statue is the latest card revealed from Knights of the Frozen Throne

Nine mana is a lot, but this card definitely has some potential.

The card reveals just keep on coming for Hearthstone’s upcoming expansion, Knights of the Frozen Throne—and this one is definitely very interesting.

Obsidian Statue is a nine mana 4/8 minion with Taunt and Lifesteal. Its Deathrattle effect allows you to destroy a random enemy minion once Obsidian Statue bites the dust.

Lifesteal is a new effect coming in the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion that heals your hero whenever your minion deals damage—so having Taunt and Lifesteal can be a deadly combination.

On the other hand, Obsidian Statue costs nine mana, which is the worst mana cost in Hearthstone. There aren’t a lot of good one-mana cards to pair with something that costs nine mana, which basically means you’d be investing your entire turn into playing Obsidian Statue—and generally speaking, 10-mana cards are just better.

Despite its high cost, Obsidian Statue still has a lot of potential. This epic Priest minion could have a major impact on the current Hearthstone meta once the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion is released.
