With Blackrock Mountain only just in the rear view mirror, Hearthstone players are now preparing for another 132 new cards—Hearthstone‘s fourth new set in 13 months.

Hearthstone‘s newest expansion, The Grand Tournament, will arrive in August. Like Goblins vs Gnomes, the cards will be available through new card packs following the same pricing structure, with purchases through gold or real money.

Following the standard of the previous expansions, a new game board will be implemented along with 132 new cards. But this expansion brings something novel to the table: for the first time since the game’s inception, Blizzard will be adding a new key word, Inspire. Inspire triggers every time a player uses their hero power.

In part to head off any potential technical issues with a ton of players trying to buy new packs on release, as happened with Goblins vs Gnomes, players can pre-order up to 50 packs at a bulk buy discount with an exclusive card back. Those packs will then be immediately available on release day. Presumably, as with the Blackrock Mountain pre-order, this will only be available with real money.

The expansion is, as many had guessed, based around the Argent Tournament from World of Warcraft, but not the specific event itself, a call to arms for warriors battling Warcraft‘s villainous Lich King. Instead the expansion is themed around the tournament grounds themselves after the iconic Argent crusade of Warcraft lore.

All in all, it should be another exciting addition to Hearthstone.
