This Brawl is perfect if you enjoy pressing play and heading straight into the action. If you played the original Burndown Brawl in the past, you’ll be familiar with the rules of this version. The Duelist Burndown Brawl takes ideas from the original and adds a Duels mode twist.

Just like the original Burndown Brawl, you’ll get a random class and deck. If you win, you keep your deck. But if you lose, you’ll be assigned the deck you lost to in your next match. The Duels mode twist that’s added to this version of the Brawl comes in the form of Treasures and non-Standard Hero Powers. Just like in Duels mode, you’ll be given a Treasure and special Hero Power.

If you win, your Treasure and Hero Power will follow you. If you lose, they’ll be replaced, just like your deck. Since this Brawl is random, there isn’t a lot you can do in terms of preparation. If you’re not a big Duels player, this Brawl gives you an opportunity to test out some features you otherwise might not have seen.

The non-Standard Hero Powers can get interesting. Mage has a power that allows it to deal one damage to a minion and then summons a Mana Worm if that minion dies. As another example, Shaman has a power that summons a Totem of your choice instead of a random Totem. As you’ll soon find out if you give the Brawl a shot, these powers are non-Standard for a reason.

After you win a game of the Duelist Burndown Brawl, you’ll be awarded a free Year of the Phoenix card pack. You’ll have an entire week to get your win in. You can check out the Brawl right now.
