Blizzard has been teasing alternative hero portraits in Hearthstone for a while now. Today, we finally got a peek at the game’s first one.

The skin takes the form of Magni Bronzebeard, a Warrior, and the alternative hero portrait comes with a new voice, hero power animation, and a number of other cosmetic additions. The hero power and the class cards won’t change.

The new portrait will also come with a themed card back, with the new cosmetic available for $9.99 from the in-game shop soon. There will be no way to buy the new content with earned, in-game gold, meaning that “free-to-play” stalwarts will be locked out.

Blizzard’s announcement suggests all nine classes will get new skins in the not-too-distant future, meaning that a full set of alternative heroes will set you back nearly $90.

Let’s just hope the suggestion of paying for new deck slots doesn’t also turn out to be true.
