Hallow’s End Arena is upon is and if you have been looking for the best resources to get yourself started on your way to a high win count in the dual class arena, you’ve come to the right place. We all received one arena ticket for the event and we’ll be getting another one on the 30th for the second week of this special event. The new arena mode allows you to choose two different classes for Arena – a primary class and a secondary class, for which you get the class cards as well as the hero powers in your draft. While conventional hero drafting may be easy, in this dual class setup things are very different and opens up a ton of synergy possibilities between two classes.
Picking the Right Class
When it comes to picking the right classes, it’s all about the second class you pick as the hero power is absolutely crucial. You should always try to pick one of the following 4 hero powers:
Life Tap – Warlock: Warlock is absolutely insane in the Hallow’s End Arena and it works well with any class that has snowballing effects in the early game to allow you to hero power without falling back too much, or has cards that has lots of removals or sustain (healing/armor gain/stalling mechanics) to get value out of your hero power without risking dying too early on.
Dagger – Rogue: Rogue’s hero power works with any aggressive or midrange decks as you sacrifice your life total for tempo and can get two pings off with 2 mana invested unlike other classes like Mage or Druid. The class works well with pretty much all first-class selections.
Fireblast – Mage: Mage’s hero power is very consistent with it being able to get through taunts and not losing health in the process (unlike Druid and Rogue). It also benefits classes like Hunter and Warrior that do not have much flexibility. Picked Execute? Fireblast can enable it. Picked Hunter’s Mark? Fireblast can help you clear the minion off without you being required to trade.
Steady Shot – Hunter: Believe it or not, this is the personal favorite of Merps is Steady Shot for the event. If you have a first class that has the potential to be extremely aggressive then look no further than Hunter for the second hero power. The hero power works best paired with weapons for maximum value.
Card Tier List
The Lightforge Tier List is one of the most useful tools when it comes to drafting. You can head down below to check out what cards you should be picking. ADWCTA and Merps, two Arena specialists behind the website have added a filter to evaluate cards in a dual class setting as well. You can pick two classes and depending on the synergy between the classes, the scores are adjusted to help you pick the right cards. There are 72 possible combinations and they have accounted for every single card that’s in the Arena card pool to help you make the right choices.
Even when it’s not Hallow’s End you should give their tier list a shot. Even with thousands of games played it’s good to cross check a tier list just to cross check your picks and get the best pick out. Of course, all of these card choices are based in a vacuum as standalone cards, you will need to brainstorm a little yourself too to cards you’ve already picked can have synergies that make otherwise weaker cards a lot more powerful in your deck.

Disclaimer: If you are someone who isn’t accustomed to arena, do not induce what the gameplay feels like in these two weeks is the big picture of the usual Arena mode. With two classes thrown in, there can be some wild things going on in terms of synergies and combos that are otherwise not even possible even in ranked or casual play! So be warned and be prepared for what lies ahead this Halloween.
