Grand Archivist is the next card revealed for Kobolds and Catacombs. It’s an eight mana 4/7 minion, and after each turn with this minion on board, a spell from your deck with be cast with random targets.

The first half of the card text sounds nice for any late-game tempo plays, but the second half brings horror as it turns into complete random chance. Many of your own spells may be turned on you or your minions.

This card most likely won’t see much play, as it’s similar to Mayor Noggenfogger, a card that makes all targets chosen randomly. Although it’s not played in competitive decks, it makes for funny highlight videos when it comes as a result of an Evolve or other transformation cards.

Look for Grand Archivist in the newest Hearthstone compilation videos as something that can miraculously turn the game in your favor or horribly take away your life.

You can pre-order 50 Kobolds and Catacombs card packs now with a special card back in preparation for the expansion’s release next month.
