G2 Esports will host the Full Tilt Invitational in just over a week, with 16 players fighting it out for a share of the $3,000 prizepool. While online invitationals for a few thousand dollars have become less and less popular in Hearthstone recently, the unique format for this event has fans intrigued.

Instead of the usual three class lineup, players will be required to bring two decks from just one class throughout the tournament. Only the losing player will be allowed to switch decks in the best-of-five matches.

The tournament has captured the imagination of fans—even without yet announcing any players.

The G2 tournament comes hot on the heels of Red Bull and Tempo Storm’s event from this past weekend. The tournament was played using a new “Sealed” format, akin to the sealed draft format in Magic: the Gathering and was considered to be a great success.

All these formats come ahead of the release of Hearthstone‘s official formats, “Standard” and “Wild” which will see expansions that are more than two years old removed from the Standard format that will be used for official Blizzard events.
