Dignitas has made its third Hearthstone addition this year, bringing on a European World Championship qualification standings leader.
Khazakhstani Olzhas “Naiman” Batyrbekov has joined the team following his departure from semi-pro European outfit Vega Squadron two weeks ago.
Known primarily as a ladder player and deckbuilder, Batyrbekov is currently second in the race to qualify for the Hearthstone World Championships, just 10 points behind leaders Frederik “Hoej” Nielsen and Jon “Orange” Westberg. Batyrbekov finished at the very top of the ladder in January, and was narrowly pushed into second in February.
Outside of ladder accomplishments Batyrbekov recently made his first major appearance in an offline event. He made it to the semi finals of the Gfinity Spring Masters I, beating Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert and Sebastian “Forsen” Fors on the way.
Batyrbekov’s signing represents the latest move in a significant Hearthstone expansion for Dignitas in 2015. In January, the team signed journeyman Keaton “Chakki” Gill and 2014 World Championship semi finalist Hakjun “Kranich” Beck. The trio have joined established British players Lewis “Blackout” Spencer and James “Greensheep” Luo.
The team also recently made unsuccessful bids for Jan “Faramir” Engelmann and Jon “Orange” Westberg. A source close to the team told the Daily Dot that the Hearthstone roster was now considered full.
