Introduction
Hello everyone and I am happy to announce that this week we are indeed getting a Decks to Play article rolling! I didn’t believe at first it would be possible to post a good decks to play articles given the state of the Metagame, but North America’s Winter Preliminaries actually gave me a lot of ideas and I decided to test the bunch of lists played.
Different from the EU ones, these lists were pretty good and rounded up. They were also very different from what we see or a very good updated version of the Ladder lists that I decided you guys, my beloved readers, must have access to such lists and informations!
Decks to Play is an article where I not only introduce you guys to a bunch of Deck lists I believe are the bests ones for you to play, I also talk a lot about the metagame, the changes, what is best to use on the ladder and what isn’t.
This week, however, we will not be seeing a Meta talk, as the metagame is completely equal to last week’s metagame and is supposed to not change at all until Standard hits.
However this time we have had so many good and different lists, that we’ll be getting a 2-parts Decks to Play! :D:D:D
Are you prepared?!
Amnesiac’s Rogue
I will start with this list because it is the one i am spamming the ladder with this week.
Amnesiac was one of the qualified guys on NA’s Winter Prelims, and this list caught my attention because of how well rounded it is.
It picks sprint instead of the gadgetzan-auctioneer and it makes sense since we’re not talking about a malygos list as the one I was using last week.
This list aims at consistency and has a lot less fancy tricks than other lists while being powerful enough to defeat any opponent.
This list is also slightly better against all the meta decks, including Druid, Zoo and Paladin, than other Rogue lists, certainly better than my Malygos list from last weeks and the one I will not only be running on the ladder, but also on tournaments.
edwin-vancleef is a very powerful card, but not as needed for the deck to function as bloodmage-thalnos, which is a card that in case you want to play rogue you should be crafting given it is a Classic card and won’t rotate, and in case you don’t have the budget to afford Vancleef in your Rogue deck, an earthen-ring-farseer substitution will do just fine.
Fibonacci’s Control Warrior
Another amazing Control Warrior list featured by Fibonacci, this one he used to get qualified in the Winter Prelims as well.
This list features a bunch of not-so-used cards which makes it a totally different Warrior Control list than what people are usually used to.
There are a great number of things about this list that I like a lot, let us try to name a few:
jeweled-scarab is an awesome overall card. I have used it before on Control Warrior while grinding my Golden Warrior and it always felt decent. However, I was not quite sure if it was the best option – For Fibonacci it is, and that is more than enough reasoning for me to think it is too.
deathwing is always present on Fibonacci’s lists, and given how people aren’t playing around sweepers nowadays because of how “dumb” the game became, Deathwing is a decent “failsafe” button for you to press when everything else failed to work.
deathlord makes sure you don’t get destroyed in Control Mirrors by winning the Fatigue Wars. This deck shouldn’t be powerful enough to consistently defeat Control Priest I believe, but Deathlord for sure makes the Renolock matchup favored. This is also a lot more consistent against Aggro decks than standard Control Priest for various reasons, the biggest one being it is not a Priest deck.
There are also a couple of things I don’t like:
doomsayer is supposed to both timewalk as well as give you a free turn early in the game, later in the game this card is supposed to die very easily, so sometimes playing this just to get a free turn and a couple Armor Up!s when the board is empty is reasonable.
The second fiery-war-axe is missing here, and I have no idea why. Probably the Doomsayer is replacing it which could make sense, but I just don’t get why Fibonacci would do this.
And this covers most of the things I wanted to say about this list. It is a full Control one, much like normal Fatigue Warrior lists, and should be played as such: kill everything that is dropped on the board -> exhaust your opponent of threats -> win.
Chessdude123’s Control Priest
Another great, but pleasant, surprise was Chessdude123 getting qualified playing a Standard Control Priest list. This list features no fancy plays, just pure standard Control Priest.
If you want my opinion about this list, however, is that you should be using justicar-trueheart instead of sylvanas-windrunner on the ladder because of how powerful it is in Control Priests – However, I believe you should test the list with Sylvanas first before making the change, I know I will!
Everything else about this list is already known to you all because of my tireless spam of Control Priest lists, getting updated over and over again.
So in case you are wanting another nice Priest list to play, this should be ideal for anyone trying to get into the class!

I find it funny how I thought there were going to be no lists this week for me to write about, and then BOOM: thousands of lists start popping up on the sky and we have a lot of stuff to talk about!
Interesting fact? None of these lists run the almighty dr-boom!
