William “Amnesia” Barton will join the team after becoming a key practice partner for Chan and a number of the team’s other players, including Jon “Orange” Westberg and Paul “Zalae” Nemeth, the Daily Dot has learned.

Barton’s ladder achievements saw him enter the Hearthstone World Championship North American qualifier, though he finished with a disappointing 1-2 record.

Though Archon has not signed a player since Westberg joined in March, two players have left the team: Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert, and player/coach Ryan “Purple” Murphy-Root. Bentert has since joined Na’Vi, while Murphy-Root is now with Gamers Origin in the same role.

Archon has also announced the renewal of Westberg’s contract, silencing any speculation about the player’s future following a period of poor form while living at the Archon team house in Dallas, Texas. Contract extensions for James “Firebat” Kostesich and streamer “DeerNadia” will also be announced later today.
