Adidas Sponsors Team Vitality

Adidas has entered the esports scene by sponsoring Team Vitality.

French LCS organization, Team Vitality, has announced today through Dot Esports that they are gaining a sponsorship from Adidas for the upcoming year. Adidas will be displayed on the team’s jerseys for each and every one of their rosters, including League of Legends, Call of Duty and beyond.

“It’s a good deal, not our biggest,” Nicolas Maurer, Team Vitality’s founder and owner, told Dot Esports. “We’ll send players to Adidas events, they’ll invite us to specific events too, and they’ll showcase our teams on their social networks. The goal of the deal is to do more than just clothes and branding.”

The deal represents a huge boost to the esports scene, as Adidas is a global brand taking interest into esports as a whole through this sponsorship. It will be interesting to see if any other big brands begin to follow suit in the future.
