Where to find Apples in Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails

They're Captain Barbossa's favorite.

There are many different items you have to collect and use as you work through the Pirates of the Caribbean event in Fortnite. Most of these are pirate items, but some quests also make references to the films, which is why you need to know where to find Apples.

Apples aren’t an event-exclusive item, but there is a special way you can get them during this crossover and they’re decently tricky to find even outside of it. Here’s where to find Apples so you can progress through the Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails event in Fortnite.

You can find Apples pretty much everywhere around the island in Fortnite, but there are a few key spots you have to check to get them. During the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover event, you can get Apples by:

  • Opening produce boxes around the map. These are brown cardboard boxes with a green lid and some vegetables drawn on the side. You can find them throughout the entire island, but some of the best spots to check are Reckless Railways, Pleasant Piazza, and Mount Olympus. The produce inside is random, which means you may need to open several boxes before you find any Apples.
  • Spending gold bars to buy them from the Cursed Sails NPC Captain Barbossa. He loves Apples, so you can purchase some from him. Each Apple costs 10 gold bars. This is the most reliable way to get Apples since he’s guaranteed to have them.

How to consume Apples in Fortnite

Once you have some Apples in your inventory, you can select the use option to eat them as long as your health isn’t full. The exact button you need to press varies by platform, but you can check which one you need to press near the left edge of the screen a bit above your health bar while holding Apples. For the event quest that asks you to consume Apples, you need to eat three of them.

You can’t eat Apples to progress through this Pirates of the Caribbean quest unless your health bar is less than full, so you might need to get in some fights or take some fall damage if you can’t consume them. If you’re trying to take some damage, you could also try damaging opponents or traveling distance with Cannons to knock out an additional quest while progressing through this one.
