In the fourth week of the eight-week Fortnite Summer Skirmish series, the first player to win more than one tournament has been determined.
Vivid, who won the inaugural event in the series, claimed his second title and grand prize. While the first win made him split his award and praise with a teammate, today’s tournament is completely thanks to his own performances.
Out of the six matches played, Vivid won two to earn four points. The remaining five points he carried to a championship were earned through high placings and four-kill games due to the “Hold the Throne” format Epic is using this week.
With two Victory Royales of his own, Team Liquid’s Jake “Poach” Brumleve was close to stealing away the tournament title from Vivid. His seven points were good enough for second place, but they fell just short of the eight-point mark needed to win the event.
While Vivid or Poach could have gotten an additional point had one of them finished with the most kills in a single game in the tournament, that honor was earned by Reverse2K, who will receive a $50,000 bonus.
After Vivid and Poach, there was a pretty evident drop in points and a lot of ties. Following Turner “Tfue” Tenney’s two-point total at seventh place, there were more than 25 players tied for eighth place with one point each. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, and Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin were among those players.
The best Fortnite players Europe has to offer will showcase their skills tomorrow in the second half of week four’s action in a replica of today’s format.
